KAPLAN REAL ESTATE TO HANDLE LEASING OF NEW HYATT REGENCY ST. LOUIS RIVERFRONT
ST. LOUIS, Missouri. (March 17, 2008) – The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC, the San Francisco lodging investment and advisory firm that recently acquired the downtown St. Louis Adam’s Mark hotel, has selected Kaplan Real Estate of St. Louis as exclusive leasing agent for the hotel’s restaurant, lounge and retail spaces.

A planned $63-million renovation and repositioning of the property into the Hyatt Regency St. Louis Riverfront will encompass all 910 guest rooms and suites, the hotel lobby and all public and meeting spaces. Project completion is expected in 2009.

Kaplan’s efforts will be headed up by David Wright , company president, and Kent Hirschfelder , Kaplan’s director of restaurants and hospitality. Stated Hirschfelder, “We are pleased to have been selected to bring exciting new restaurant, lounge, entertainment and retail concepts to the St. Louis Hyatt Regency Riverfront. Our search will encompass both local and national companies, and we expect to bring outstanding operators that will complement and enhance the exciting new look and feel that Hyatt and Chartres are creating.”

Circuit City Development - Suemandy/S. Service Road, St. Peters, Missouri, Kaplan Real Estate's efforts in conjunction with Kaplan's development partner Midland Development, resulted in a new and modern prototype Circuit City store in St. Peters, Missouri. Kaplan performed the assembly of four parcels of ground, orchestrated the re-zoning and obtaining other governmental permits and entitlements, and along Midland, formed a Chapter 353 redevelopment corporation in order to implement necessary redevelopment tools, including the participation in an existing TIF. After successfully completing the Circuit City lease, and performing all required improvements to complete this project, the Kaplan-Midland joint venture successfully completed the sale of the new development to an affiliate of SNL, a New York Stock Exchange listed, publicly traded real estate investment trust.
